El Sobrante homicide investigation underway after grisly discovery inside mobile home

EL SOBRANTE — For the past two months, authorities here have been investigating the killing of a 69-year-old man found inside his mobile home on Appian Way, this news organization has learned.

On April 13, the decomposing body of El Sobrante resident Richard Hendrix was discovered inside his mobile home. Police believe he was attacked with a weapon and strangled several days earlier, according to authorities.

Hendrix was last seen roughly a week earlier, near the 400 block of Appian Way, where he lived.

His body was discovered after his landlord reported that Hendrix was missing and that he was concerned, according to authorities.
